Trash day, bulk pickup, leaf collection and drop-off dates · Lorain County · 2026 schedule, checked against the city's own notices on Thursday, October 29
City crews pick up leaves from the curb each fall, starting when leaves begin to fall (historically mid to late October) and continuing into December, weather permitting or until heavy snow. There is no street schedule: crews start at the east end of town and work west, as many times as they can.
Leaves on the tree lawn, not in the street, away from storm drains, mailboxes and parked cars.
Keep rocks, boulders, wood and decorative items out of the leaf area. From fall 2026 the city marks properties with these items near the leaves, and skips them until the items are moved.
Put landscape rocks, bricks and other solid yard debris in a separate pile for Republic on Friday.
Leaves not collected by December go in brown paper yard bags for Republic on Friday.
The city has not posted a 2026 start date and does not publish street-by-street progress.
Every Friday: trash, recycling, yard waste and bulk items.
Tomorrow · Friday, October 30
When a federal holiday falls earlier in the week, pickup moves to Saturday. The city does not list the 2026 dates; check Republic after a holiday or storm.
Bulk is weekly: couches, lamps, rugs, mattresses, and large appliances with the Freon removed. Ask Republic about construction debris.
Yard waste all year in brown recycle bags or cans marked YARD WASTE.
Free document shredding events on the county's 2026 calendar, at 4750 Richelieu Ave (May 16 and August 15) and the Domonkas Branch Library, 4125 Lake Road (May 23).
Nothing more scheduled this year
