Fall leaf collection

City Street Department

City leaf vacuums start on Monday, November 2, 2026, and run through the first week of December, weather permitting. Crews follow a set route; a full pass of the city takes seven to ten business days, and up to two weeks.

In 4 days · Monday, November 2

  • Leaves on the tree lawn, not in the street, no more than seven feet from the curb.
  • Keep piles away from storm drains, water meter covers, mailboxes, street signs and parked cars. No stones, branches or other debris.
  • There is no set day for a street, and crews do not leave their route. Big piles do not get priority.
  • No branches at the curb during leaf season: the trucks swap their chippers for leaf vacuums. Tall ornamental grass must be bagged for trash.
  • After the first week of December, bag leaves in brown bags for Republic on trash day. Bagged leaves can go to Republic at any time.
  • The city posts updates as news posts and does not publish street-by-street progress.

Trash and recycling

Republic Services

Every Monday, citywide. Carts at the curb by 6 a.m., or after 6 p.m. the night before. Residents sign up and pay Republic directly; it is not a city service.

In 4 days · Monday, November 2

  • Trash bagged inside the cart with the lid closed. Recycling goes loose, never bagged: paper, cardboard, cans, and plastic bottles and jugs.
  • Keep carts 3 feet from anything else, on opposite sides of the driveway if you can. A missed cart that was not out on time waits a week.
  • No lithium batteries in trash or recycling: they start fires in trucks.
  • 2026 holidays: Memorial Day and Labor Day push Monday pickup to Tuesday. New Year's, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas do not change it.

Holiday weeks: Memorial Day moves Mon, May 25 to Tue, May 26; Labor Day moves Mon, Sep 7 to Tue, Sep 8. No delay for New Year's Day or Independence Day or Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.
