Fall leaf collection

City Service Department

City crews collect leaf piles from the tree lawn, one section of the city a week, in two passes from late October to mid December, weather permitting. The city posts a schedule, not progress.

Now, through Fri, Oct 30 · Section 4, first pass

  • Find your section on the city's leaf map (sections as the city words them).
  • Section 1: Brookpark and W. 54th (east side of the street) to W. 10th; W. 10th and Brookpark south to Ridgewood (north side of the street).
  • Section 2: Ridge and Ridgewood south to Sprague; Sprague to W. 130th.
  • Section 3: Ridge and Ridgewood (south side of the street) to Broadview; Broadview and Ridgewood south to Sprague.
  • Section 4: Brookpark and W. 130th east to W. 54th (west side of the street); W. 54th and Brookpark south to Ridgewood, west to Westminster.
  • Have leaves on the tree lawn during your section's week. The exact day and time on your street cannot be predicted.
  • Do not rake leaves into the street or over catch basins. No sticks, rocks or other debris in the pile.
  • Do not park on the street in front of the leaf pile during your week.
  • Missed your week? Bag the leaves by Rumpke's rules and put them out on trash day.
  • City crews are off November 26 and 27.

Trash, recycling and yard waste

Rumpke

Once a week, Monday through Friday depending on your route (the city's route map shows each area's day). Within three feet of the curb by 7 a.m.; not out before noon the day before.

Every week on your route's day

  • Trash in the brown Rumpke cart; recycling loose, not bagged, in the smaller green cart.
  • Up to six extra bags or three extra 32-gallon cans of trash a week.
  • Yard waste all year on your day: in the brown cart, brown paper yard bags or plastic lawn bags, never in the green cart. Branches cut and bundled; bags and bundles 40 pounds or less.
  • No pickup on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas. When one falls on a weekday, collection after it runs one day late. A weekend holiday changes nothing.
  • No batteries, oil-based paint, motor oil, tires, pool chemicals, propane tanks, hot ashes, large car parts or syringes in the carts.
